Hi, blog readers, it’s Aja! I recently took in an application for a plaintiff involved in a horrendous drunk driving accident, the details of which shocked me. The plaintiff had been hit head on by a drunk driver who was driving the opposite direction into oncoming traffic. Miraculously, both parties survived. Here is the first of many problems our clients face on a day-to-day basis and how the internet helps and sometimes confuses the situation.

How can the internet help you find a lawyer?

There are so many resources on the web dedicated to finding the perfect attorney for you and your type of case. This is a big decision, so I suggest trying a few of the following and seeing if there is any overlap, picking a few lawyers, interviewing them. Trial/settlement record, personality and “gut” should play a significant role in your decision:

- Personalinjurylawyer.com
- Nolo.com

Questions to ask an attorney when interviewing them:
- How long have you been in practice?
- What percentage of your practice focuses on my type of case?
- Do you primarily represent plaintiffs or defendants?
- Would the lawyer personally handle your case or pass it along to a team?
- Do you have ample staff to quickly answer my questions and address my concerns throughout the process?

How can the internet muddy the waters?

Just remember that the internet is primarily a place (like most) where money talks. This can be good and bad. For instance, if you Google “personal injury attorney” you will get sites that provide resources to plaintiffs, law firms and Google will give you local law firm addresses and phone numbers. Keep in mind that the first attorney to pop up is not necessarily (but may be) the most qualified. They have simply either paid for their internet advertisement to be placed in that location, or they have designed a website that naturally places their site at the top of the list. PS These sites are usually very helpful and offer lots of information for you regardless of location. They must do this to maintain a high “rank” on the search engines.

Construction site negligence leads to severe injuries and cash funding by Underwriter Rosie

I’m back again. It’s Rosanne…one of Cambridge Management Group’s (CMG) underwriting attorneys. HAPPY SPRING! We are finally getting to enjoy some warm weather here in NJ, but the economy is still weak. Plaintiffs across all 50 states seem to need some financial funding or support while they wait for cash settlements related to their personal injury, wrongful termination and/or medical malpractice lawsuits.

Times seem to be tough everywhere. CMG recently provided a cash funding to a plaintiff who was lucky enough to have a job, but was severely injured while working due to the negligence of a corporation. The corporation was overseeing the construction of a large building development project. There were multiple OSHA violations at the construction site. “On the job” supervisors had workers lifting a 2 ton generator without hoists. Hoists were contracted for and were supposed to arrive at the construction site. When hoists, pullies and safety straps didn’t arrive, supervisors told the workers to proceed anyway and the generator fell on plaintiff’s legs. Plaintiff is a 27 year old, honest, hard working person. He suffered bilateral crush injuries to his legs, which required surgery to replace tendons. Bilateral knee surgery (surgery on both knees) is also scheduled. This plaintiff came to CMG for money to support their family while they await settlement or collection from lawsuit judgment. This plaintiff is now on disability and can’t return to work to no fault of their own. Large, corporate defendants were pushing for work to get done quickly, but not safely and this young man horrible personal injuries and financial devastation as a result.

CMG Funded this client for nearly $10,000 and they are eligible for additional funding following receipt of the operative report from the knee surgery.

Texting while driving leads to multiple surgeries by Millie CSR

Hi everyone,

This is Millie again and I would like to share the story of one of our clients with you. This client was driving to a job interview when another vehicle rear ended their car making causing them to lose control and hit an electric pole. The client suffered severe back, leg and hip injuries. The other driver had been texting while driving (TWD) when the accident occurred. The defendant was uninjured, but the plaintiff has subsequently had multiple surgeries and prolonged therapy for a long period of time. Greetings to all of our blog readers!!! Its TT once again reporting from our outstanding underwriting department. I have an awesome story to share with you all. One of our clients applied to request a funding for a motor vehicle accident. Upon my initial review of the case, I noticed the plaintiff was hit by someone who failed to stop at a stop sign. To make matters worse, the person who hit them left the scene of the accident.

Thankfully, the defendant was located shortly after by the local police. I felt extremely sorry for this person because, like all of our clients, their injuries are sustained to no fault of their own. This client needed a cash funding to pay for arthroscopic surgery. I advised our underwriter of the details of the case immediately. Auto accident leads to surgery and cash funding by Aja CSC

It’s Aja again. In addition to the administrative and marketing facets of my job here at CMG, I’m also well-versed in assisting our clients with updates and coordinating the review process with our underwriters and experts. Because I get to be hands-on in quite a few areas of the business, it’s especially exciting for me to help take a client effectively from the beginning of our review process to the end, when they get cash in their hand.

One particular case I recently handled comes to mind. The client had found CMG through searching for legal funding on Google, which is in itself fantastic to hear! When the client called CMG initially, they told me about their auto accident (MVA) where they were t-boned (car side impact) at a green light. Unfortunately, the injuries were severe and required rotator cuff surgery. This client was waiting to hear if more surgery was necessary. Slip and fall leads to lumbar surgery by Brian CSR

Hello everyone – This is Brian, the closer. My day is moving along rather quickly, like always. I just finished a funding for a plaintiff involved in a department store slip and fall case which left them with severe back injuries. When people hear “slip and fall,” they seem to think that the harm done is usually not that critical, but this isn’t always the case. Contrary to what many people believe, injuries sustained from a slip on ice or water can result in major head trauma, even lasting spinal or nerve damage. Many times these injuries could have been avoided with property maintenance for all premise residences, visitors or employees.

This particular client needed a lawsuit funding to pay for necessary lumbar surgery, advancing their recovery process.
